Scholarships

Purpose
PHTA seeks to improve public health by creating a safer aquatic environment and attracting more people to aquatic exercise through education and research. These scholarships were founded to honor public swimming pool or spa operators who have pursued further education to better protect public health.

Board Scholarship Award
(2) — $2,000

Foundation Scholarship Award
(up to 12) — $1,000

Requirements
To be considered for any of the available scholarships, the applicant must be one of the following and submit a completed application:

• CPO, CMS, CST, CSP, CHTT, CPI, or CRP
• CBP, Advanced CBP, Expert CBP, or Master CBP
• CPO Instructor
• An immediate family member of any of the above

Only one scholarship per applicant will be awarded. Previous award recipients are ineligible for consideration.

Deadline
Scholarships are awarded for the fall semester of each year. The complete application must be received no later than July 14, 2023.

Award Notification
Award recipients will be notified on or before August 1, 2023. Upon award, payment will be submitted directly to the college or university. Awards cannot be paid directly to students.
